Dusavik is located in Tasta district in Stavanger and Randaberg municipality. The area is one of the largest oil bases by the North Sea and is an important junction for the base activity along the Norwegian Coast.
The area is especially suited for oil related businesses in need of a port and deep water dock. The main landowners in the base area is NorSea Group AS and Smedvig Eiendom AS.There are around 2558 jobs in the area (2013).The area is connected to E39, the main road between Stavanger and Haugesund/Bergen.

The activity is related to supply to offshore installations, as well as mobilization of vessels, bunker deliveries, bulk shipments, project cargoes, etc. The total port length is 500 m and the depth 7-13 m. The area has pretty good public transport accessibility.
In the current drafting of a municipal plan in Stavanger, the commercial area is expanded by ca. 200 acres, which will be zoned for industrial- and storage businesses with accompanying offices that can document the need for location close to the sea, or being energy related.
