Hillevåg business area is a large and complex business area stretching from central Stavanger / Lagårdsveien in the north and along the railroad and RV 44 to Mariero in the south. Furthermore, it includes the Stavanger University and commercial areas on Åsen at E-39.
The district center is centrally located for a district with almost 19 000 inhabitants and 19 000 jobs (2013). In addition to the center area, Hillevåg has areas for other commerce, offices and industry. Because of the excellent connections, the area will be further developed densely and will provide many jobs.
The area is characterized by excellent connections with a railroad station and main buss station for buses going through the area, as well as a highway (E-39) which is connected to the area in the west. The distance to Stavanger city center is short, and the airport is 12 km away. The railroad station is located on Mariero, in the southern part of the area.
There are several privately owned port facilities.
In the municipal plan, parts of Hillevåg are set aside for transformation area for mixed urban development. These city renewal areas gives Hillevåg a great potential for further development, both in a business and residential contect. The developmental potential is mainly maintained by the private landowners.
