Herøya

Herøya is one of the largest and most versatile industrial areas in Norway. The area offers many advantages and good development opportunities for large industrial companies, the supply industry and start-ups.

Herøya industrial area comprises Herøya Industrial Park, Siva Herøya commercial park, the harbour areas of Port of Grenland, Eramet and some smaller areas.

Herøya has a good mix of manufacturing, supply industry, logistics and office space. In total, there are 2,500 jobs in more than 130 businesses ranging from large process industry companies to the supply industry with companies within R&D, analysis, IT, engineering, logistics and warehousing.

Herøya is the ideal environment for future-oriented industrial and business development. Companies work closely with R&D and technology environments in and beyond Herøya. More than 20 start-ups are linked to the Proventia incubator environment, and Herøya’s pilot arena is in high demand. The research park brings together several leading research environments.

Herøya’s major competitive advantages are solid industrial competence, a wide range of service providers and supply companies, R&D environments, incubator and test facilities, as well as good, efficient logistics.

Herøya is integrated with Grenland’s other major industrial area, Frier Vest, which is now expanding into new industrial areas. Other R&D and technology environments in the local area include Gassnova, Tel-Tek and Campus Porsgrunn, the University of South-Eastern Norway, which collaborates with Herøya’s companies.
