Forus Commercial Area is the largest commercial area in the region, and one of the largest coherent commercial areas in Norway.
It is located in the intersection between the municipal boarders of Stavanger, Sandnes, and Sola. Around 2500 varying businesses are currently established on Forus with a total of 45,000 employees (2013). Statoil has their main office in the area. Furthermore, there are many commerce businesses targeting a regional market located here. The area is versatile with areas set aside for offices, trade, warehouse and industrial purposes. Short distance to Sola airport. A 4-lane highway (E39) passes through the area. The largest property owner in the area is Forus Næringspark AS. The plot development company is owned by Sandnes, Sola and Stavanger municipalities.
